Woolbeding Gardens Midhurst
Visit the beautiful Woolbeding Gardens in Midhurst Sussex, close to the Surrey/Hampshire Borders - National Trust
Nestled in a quiet corner of West Sussex near Midhurst lies a true horticultural haven bursting with colourful planting, sensational views and a whole host of surprises.
Woolbeding delights at every turn with distinctive garden rooms set against thoughtfully composed borders. Formal gardens merge into the far reaching rural landscape of the River Rother, a perfect backdrop for the many sculptures and follies you’ll come across. A masterpiece of colour and design, the formal garden rooms have been planned to perfection by landscape architect Lanning Roper. Julian and Isabel Bannerman meanwhile, brought theatrical flair to Woolbeding, producing the dramatic woodland Pleasure Ground of architectural follies.
You’ll lose hours exploring this carefully cultivated and constantly evolving garden.

Midhurst itself is a charming Sussex Country Town and a great centre for places, historic houses and gardens to visit. The nearby South Downs are a great place for walking. Check out the recommended places we have for you to stay over.
2019 Woolbeding Gardens open as follows
We’re still very much a private garden and we welcome visitors exclusively on Thursdays and Fridays (between 25 April - 27 September 2019). All visits must be pre-booked so we can ensure you'll experience the garden just as it's meant to be. As we're also without a visitor car park, our complimentary park and ride scheme is on hand to take you from nearby Midhurst and drop you directly outside Woolbeding Gardens.
A great place to visit.
