Sandringham House Gardens in Norfolk

Sandringham House Gardens in Norfolk - Beautiful herbaceous borders designed by Geoffrey Jellicoe, woodland and lakes with magnolias, camellias, rhododendrons.

Built in 1870 by the Prince and Princess of Wales, later King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, Sandringham was once described as 'The most comfortable house in England'. It has beautiful gardens covering over 60 acres. In Spring there are beautiful displays of Rhododendrons and Magnolias which replanted from a collection in Windsor.
Created by Geoffrey Jelicoe in 1947 for King George VI the formal enclosed areas of garden are informally planted in a cottage garden style and are usually at their best in late July where they provide a more secluded area and act as a haven for Bees and Butterflies
Sandringham has been passed down as a private home through four generations of British monarchs and was the country retreat of the late  the Queen Elizabeth.
