Winkworth Arboretum, best time to visit

Winkworth Arboretum was founded by Dr Wilfrid Fox in 1937. An amazing place any time of the year but famous for its amazing AUTUMN COLOURS

Winkworth Arboretum is set in some 46 hectares. Whilst it is well known for its Autumn colours it is a pleasant place to visit any time of the year.
In Spring there are drifts of bluebells, magnolias and cherry blossom. The azalea walk, which is a mass of colour at the end of April, leads to the boathouse which overlooks the lake.
In the Autumn the colour from the Japanese, American and Norwegian maples is outstanding but time your visit right by telephoning in advance.
Plenty more trails make for a good walk at any time of the year.
