Moseley Old Hall and Gardens, Fordhouses
An amazing Elizabethan farmhouse with many secrets plus a lovely small Walled Garden. The amazing Hall is also open.
Moseley Old Hall's walled garden is a modest but lovely space with a collection of plants that have been refined since the 17th century.
This amazing Elizabethan farmhouse has many secrets and is open to the public. The priest hole and the chapel attic tell the story of King Charles II's escape.
The Orchard:
Moseley’s orchard contains more than 20 heritage varieties of apples and pears, many of which have been grown in this country since at least the 17th century.
The Knot Garden:
The design of Moseley’s knot garden was adapted from one of four laid out by the Rev. Walter Stonehouse between 1631 and 1640 at his rectory in Darfield, South Yorkshire. An ‘open knot’ garden like Moseley’s is simpler, but more extensive than its more intricate, small-scale ‘closed knot’ counterpart.
