Larmer Tree Gardens - 'Secret Gardens of Wiltshire' in the beautiful Cranborne chase.

Larmer Gardens, near Shaftesbury hidden away deep in the Wiltshire countryside are the historical gardens of General Pitt Rivers created in 1880.
They are recognised as a garden of National importance by English Heritage.
The gardens were popular in the late 1800s attracting over 44,000 visitors a year who also had picnics and watched plays in the Singing Theatre - now restored. The gardens then lost their way but were restored in the early 1990s.
Inhabited with free flying Macaws and ornamental birds. 
There is something for every season  
Spring - camellias, rhododendrons and woodland plantings.
Summer - hydrangea collection, Eucryphias  overlooking the ponds and the shade of magnificent trees.
Autumn - the garden is a rich tapestry of Autumn colours.
The Generals Roman temple and Indian room with Nepalese carving form a striking backdrop for newly planted borders, dells and arbours. 12 acres in all to see.

No dogs allowed in the garden. Available for group visits and private hire.  Please check our website for occasional closures.
