Venus Garden at Windsor Castle

DISCOVER A MAGNIFICENT ROYAL GARDEN beneath Windsor Castle's famous east façade which has been transformed according to His Majesty The King's vision. Formerly the East Terrace Garden, the newly renamed and redesigned Venus Garden will open to visitors as part of a standard castle visit between Thursday, 16 July and Sunday, 13 September. This marks the first opportunity to experience the historic space inspired by The King's passion for natural patterns.
The opening allows visitors to enjoy rare, stunning views of the east façade and spend time outdoors within the 1,000-year-old castle walls.
The layout takes inspiration from Venus's orbit, which creates a petal-like floral pattern when traced over eight years. This pattern informs the newly laid perennial beds and evergreen hedge-lined pathways that visitors can wander through.
Features of the enhanced planting scheme include:
• Year-round structure and long seasonal interest.
• Mixed perennials and roses for summer and autumn color.
• Around 11,000 spring bulbs for vibrant early-year displays.
• Wildflower meadows that create a biodiverse haven for wildlife, reflecting His Majesty's commitment to sustainability.
