Syon Park Garden
Syon Park and Garden - On the Thames, there are 40 acres of gardens and the Historic House is also open.
The Gardens at Syon Park are renowned for their extensive collection of rare trees and plants landscaped by Capability Brown during the mid 18th century.
Within the 40 acres of garden there is the Doric Column bearing Flora, goddess of flowers, a rose garden and a lake, which is a haven for wildlife.
One of the many highlights is the spectacular Great Conservatory built in the 1820s. There are beautiful view across the water meadows towards the River Thames.
Syon House owned by the Duke of Northumberland is also open and is well worth visiting. It is on the site of a Medieval Abbey and the name originates from Zion in the Holy Land. The historic State Rooms are also well worth seeing.
