Newark Park and Gardens - A hill-top garden surrounding a historic hunting lodge known for their delightful displays of snowdrops. Adjoining the house is a colourful walled garden and further areas are being restored.
This hill-top house at Newark Park has breath-taking views over the Cotswolds landscape.
Follow paths down to the boating house or take some of the longer walks within the estate. At the time of adding this entry dogs on leads are allowed in the grounds.
Every year in February and early March at Newark Park there are beautiful displays of snowdrops and aconites. The house was a hunting lodge but upgraded to a house in the late 18th century when the pleasure grounds are likely to have been created, with a serpentine lake, a folly and walks.
Beautiful Autumn colours from 'native' trees - late October to mid-November.
Work on the gardens is on-going and the 'crinkle crankle' wall has been restored and the flower borders in front of this re-planted.
