Audley End House and Garden, near Saffron Walden
Audley End is a glorious Jacobean stately home owned by English Heritage with outstanding gardens..
Audley End House is one of England's finest Jacobean houses with gardens to match!
The grounds are divided by the River Granta, which is crossed by several ornate bridges which lead up to the house.
The Capability Brown grounds are extensive and include a beautiful parterre at the rear of the house, an organic walled garden restored in 1999 to how it would have looked in Victorian times. Almost adjoining the Walled Garden is a small rock garden by James Pulham & Son together with 2 pools one of which was built for a pet otter.
There is also a Park Walk with many beautifull trees and a small cascade.
From around mid January to mid March there are great displays of snowdrops.
There is something to see in every season ending with brilliant Autumn Colours.
