Godolphin House and Gardens

Remarkable House and historic gardens restored to original design

Do not come to Godolphin House and Garden if you want to see manicured gardens.
If however you want to see  probably the oldest surviving formal garden in the country (around 700 years old) then this is for you.
You can explore the Gardens medieval pathways which lead to the side garden and its original layout with 3 compartments still in existence. The garden has a lovely atmosphere with informal plantings very much in keeping with the property and surroundings.
The King's Garden is the 16th-century privy garden to the King's Room (open) and is set within ancient stone walls and is a riot of colour from herbaceous plants, lavender and roses.
The Orchard was replanted around 2010 with Cornish varieties of apples, alongside pears, a medlar, crab apples, white mulberries and cherries. Visit in spring and the trees will be filled with blossom.
There are a number of walks on the Estate.
