We continue our trip to some of Norfolk's finest gardens. Our tour took place on a hot and sunny day in mid June when we visited .....
Peter Beales Roses - This is a wonderful display garden covering 3 acres, together with a 'Rose' Garden Centre and reastaurant. Admission is free.
Peter Beales started his rose nursery in 1968 and during his lifetime he won 19 Gold Medals for his roses at Chelsea Flower Show as well as becoming an exporter of roses all over the world.
The Rose garden will take your breath away and consists of many borders plus the addition of arches, pergolas, fences with climbing roses, rambling roses, shrub roses mixed with herbaceous and annual plantings.
Probably the best time to visit is between early June and Mid July - we visited mid June.
Bishops Garden Norwich - This beautiful Garden in the Centre of Norwich. It is a historic private 4 acre formal walled garden that has belonged to the bishops of Norwich for over 900 years.
The main feature is a substantial traditional double herbaceous border. There is an organic kitchen garden, wildflower labyrinth, woodland area, a 50m long shade border with a mix of hostas, old roses, blue poppies and tree ferns
The Garden is open on selected days throughout the summer, there is a nearby car park.
