Our third Unique garden is situated in the Scottish County of Angus and is unlike any other you will have seen in the British Isles. Tell me more!
This amazing garden dates back to 1604 and has changed little in the intervening years. Although created primarily as a pleasure garden it was also designed to stimulate the mind.
So what is unusual about the Garden?
• There are nesting holes and flower recesses set into walls usually planted with annuals
• See the parterres of box, shaped and trimmed into the design of Fleur de Lys, Scottish Thistle and English Rose
• On the wall are a series of historic stone panels representing the Seven Cardinal Virtues, the Seven Liberal Arts and Seven Planetary Deities.
• Discover the historic ruins of the castle in Red Sandstone.
The House is managed by Historic Scotland but is currently closed for repairs. It is a must for your diary though.
